European Quail in Romania

by Ed Carroll

Our friend Kiri Kythreotis of Athina Sporting stopped by our booth at the Safari Club International convention two weeks ago, and we enjoyed a chat about the highlights of our past hunting and shooting seasons. Athina is a sporting agency based in Kent, England, that sends clients all over the world, so Kiri always has exotic adventures to share that make us wish for more time to travel.
Case in point: hunting migratory European quail in farmland along the Danube Delta. In Romania, specifically, where few Americans of any adventurous stripe have explored—never mind hunted. This video makes it look like a wingshooting adventure we’d like to experience.
We can’t vouch for the quality of the dogwork or accommodations without making the trip ourselves, so we’ll let Kiri describe how the trip went.
