Who do you think of as the most influential sports phenoms of the last quarter-century? Tiger Woods perhaps? Maybe Serena Williams?

Well, now you can add Kazim Muhammad to that list. In July the Frisco, Texas, based shooter won the US National Helice Championship . . . at age 16. Oh, and this was his second consecutive US National win, he having won the 2021 tournament as well. Not only that, but he also won the 2021 FITASC World Helice Championship, in Cairo, Egypt . . . at age 15. In this year’s US National Championship, held at the Black Prairie Helice facility, in West Point, Mississippi, Muhammad scored an impressive 86/90 in the three-day event. And these are just some of his accomplishments.

Muhammad was born in 2005 in Pakistan before moving to the US with his parents and younger sister. According to his father, Muhammad Ahsan, “In 2019 [Kazim] received his first shotgun and started shooting at the Dallas Gun Club. He found that Helice is more challenging than any other shotgun sport, because every single shot is different.”

Muhammad’s outstanding shooting caught the eye of Krieghoff International, which added him to Team Krieghoff. (For the record, Muhammad shoots a K-80 Parcours.) According to Krieghoff CEO Alex Diehl, “We recognize Kazim not only for the Helice Champion he is but also for the well-rounded, well-spoken fine young man we have come to know.”
