The Rizzini BR240 Cole Special

Cole Gunsmithing, long known for customizing and upgrading field and competition shotguns, has unveiled its latest collaboration with Rizzini: the BR240 Cole Special. The eponymous company, founded by Rich Cole, has long had relationships with top Italian gunmakers, putting its distinctive touches on guns uniquely tailored to the American market. In its latest project, Cole has partnered with Rizzini to produce a gun positioned between Rizzini’s BR110 and its BR460.

“We are the largest Rizzini dealer in the US and the country’s only factory-authorized service and warranty service center,” said Vince Abrams, Cole’s Director of Marketing. “In 2023, because of our close relationship with Rizzini, we were shown the initial BR240 action and agreed to make a Cole Special. We have modified the gun’s aesthetics and added features and dimensions based on our experience with modern US shooters.”

The BR240 features a boxlock action finished in Cerakote. The chrome-lined barrels have 5¼" forcing cones. Available in either 12 or 20 gauge (as well as a 12/20 combination), the Special comes with 30" or 32" barrels, a fixed or adjustable stock, an adjustable-reach trigger, Cole Precision Chokes, a Cole Reel Style Speed Wrench, and a unique special stock profile. The Grade 3 stock has a 14¾" length of pull to match the average US shooter as well as a tighter grip radius with a palm swell that has been reduced and relocated.

The Rizzini BR240 Cole Special is available for $5,100 with a fixed stock; $5,400 with an adjustable comb; and $5,600 (X-Series) with a fixed comb, ramped rib and greater stock drop. The 12/20 combination costs $7,500.
