FISHING CREEK FARMS
Quail hunters who have dreamed of owning their own shooting grounds will find a slice of heaven at Fishing Creek Farms, in Georgia’s northeastern Piedmont region. Started by the Taylor family as a private retreat, Fishing Creek has expanded through the years but maintained that intimate feel—with every visiting group having exclusive use of the facilities. Rolling hills covered with longleaf pines and native grasses produce numerous coveys of hard-flying quail, and hunters donning white game vests and caps set up beside staunch pointing dogs and prepare for the chaos of English cockers being sent in to flush. Out of the field, guests enjoy the rustic elegance of a spacious main lodge and well-appointed private suites. This combined with gourmet dining and evenings spent relaxing around the fire pit make visiting hunters feel rich, indeed.
