By entering a Shooting Sportsman hosted contest or giveaway, you confirm acceptance of our guidelines.
ELIGIBILITY: This contest or giveaway, hereinafter referred to as "the contest," is open to individuals who are 18 years of age or older at the time of submission and are legal residents of the United States, unless participation is prohibited by law in their jurisdiction. Ineligible individuals include employees of Shooting Sportsman, Down East Enterprise, Inc., its affiliates, subsidiaries, and the independent judging organization, as well as their immediate families and members of the same household. By entering, participants confirm that their Submission is an original creation, free from plagiarism, and does not infringe upon the rights of any other individual or entity.
HOW TO ENTER: To participate, complete the online entry form by providing your name and email as required, along with the specified Submission, before the entry deadline indicated on the relevant contest page. Valid entry will typically be determined based on the successful completion of the entry/submission requirements as outlined in the specific contest guidelines. All entries are subject to review and approval by Shooting Sportsman, which retains the discretion to validate entries.
WINNER SELECTION: Refer to the specific contest/giveaway page for winner selection details. Unless otherwise indicated on the page, typically one prize winner will be selected at random by Shooting Sportsman. Winners will be contacted via email, using the email address provided during entry. In cases where any communication regarding the prize, such as an email or notification, is returned as undeliverable—provided there is sufficient time to select and confirm an alternate winner—the prize will then be bestowed upon an alternate winner. Generally, winners will receive notification through email. To facilitate the award process, winners may be asked to supply their name, address, email address, phone number, and other necessary information. Shooting Sportsman’s decisions are final and binding concerning all aspects of this contest. Judges hold the authority to request original photo files, if they deem necessary, in lieu of submissions that have been significantly cropped or extensively digitally altered. The award is guaranteed for distribution, contingent on an adequate number of entries.
RIGHTS: While the entrant retains the copyright to their Submission, by participating in a contest, the entrant grants Shooting Sportsman an irrevocable and perpetual right to publish the Submission, without compensation and/or attribution. This grant of permission enables Shooting Sportsman to use, reproduce, print, publish, transmit, publicly communicate, distribute, sell, perform, adapt, enhance, or display the Submission, along with the entrant's name, city, and state, for editorial, advertising, commercial, and promotional purposes across all current and future media platforms worldwide. This also encompasses the right to edit, adapt, and modify the Submission as necessary.
USE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION: The personal information you provide (such as name, email address, physical address, phone number, etc.) may be stored in our customer database for potential use in contacting you about subscription offers, email newsletters, and sales-related communications in the future. Furthermore, you consent to allow Shooting Sportsman to share your data with our sponsoring partners for their online communications. ADDITIONAL TERMS AND LIMITATION OF LIABILITY: Shooting Sportsman, the contest sponsors, and judges are not liable for damaged or incomplete entries. Shooting Sportsman reserves the right to modify or cancel the contest at any time and at its sole discretion, without providing compensation or recourse to any participant. You agree to release, indemnify, and hold harmless Down East Enterprise Inc., its agents, employees, contest judges, and sponsors from any claims arising out of your participation in or winning of the contest. These official rules exclude all implied conditions, warranties, and terms required by law. If any provision of these rules is found to be invalid, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining terms herein. Winners are responsible for tax obligations and income reporting. Any claims or disputes arising under or relating to this Agreement shall be resolved through binding arbitration in the state of Maine, or at another location mutually agreed upon by both parties. An arbitration award may be enforced in a court with appropriate jurisdiction.
