The regenerative agricultural practices implemented on the ranch are not only succeeding at the intended goal of growing the indigenous sharp-tailed grouse population, but also have led to the natural propagation of pheasants and chukar that have been released on the property.
Walk-up hunts at Sweetgrass conclude with a flourish. Each shoot culminates in a 100-bird Continental shoot before a nearby line of pegs.

Owner Deirdre Wildman’s commitment to a ranch-to-table dining program includes the practice of growing garden produce from non-hybrid, heirloom seeds. All the vegetables and proteins (including chicken and duck eggs, guinea fowl, rabbit, duck, chicken, goose, goat, and Sweetgrass Branded Prime Organic beef) are worthy of organic certification.

Sweetgrass’s “chuckwagon” dinners are open-air, mountaintop, gourmet suppers cooked over an open fire and served from a fully refurbished Birdsell Chuckwagon built in 1910 in South Bend, Indiana.
