PINE HILL PLANTATION
The jangling of the chains on the mule-drawn wagon, the clip-clopping of horses, the huntmaster’s signal of dogs on point followed shortly by whirring wings and gunfire. These are the sounds of a traditional Southern quail hunt. These are the sounds of Pine Hill Plantation. Located in the heart of South Georgia’s quail belt, Pine Hill offers hunters a taste of the private-plantation experience. From 6,000 acres of carefully managed habitat (classic longleaf pine forest with wiregrass understory) to a kennel full of well-trained pointing and retrieving dogs to numerous coveys of hard-flying bobwhites, careful attention is paid to every detail. Hunting from wagons and horseback is a nod to the way quail have been pursued on exclusive private plantations for almost 200 years. This carries over to the beautifully appointed private lodges and meticulously prepared cuisine—all served by courteous private house staff with charm and hospitality. Pine Hill Plantation offers an authentic, vintage experience, allowing hunters to relive the glorious days of shooting bobwhites in the grand Southern tradition.

``Pine Hill’s staff is very accommodating, and the facilities are beautiful. The hunting simply has to be experienced. Mule-drawn wagons, horses, huntmasters and many large coveys.… It doesn’t get any better than this.``
