Holland & Holland’s Clothing & Accessories Collection

Back when Chanel acquired Holland & Holland, some of the London gunmaker’s more conservative clientele viewed the company’s clothing designs as more appropriate to Paris Fashion Week than the wet and windy Yorkshire grouse moors. Now Holland & Holland has launched a clothing and accessories collection that is altogether more practical and yet entirely suitable for boulevarding through St. James’s. Further, the coats and hats are sans the haute couture pricey hang tags.

According to the company: “Produced from authentic materials and crafted by true artisans, our clothing and accessories range was conceived to deliver both luxury and performance in the field.” Jackets, for example, are tailored from tweed and loden, better to retain heat even when soaked. The Harrow Shooting Jacket (shown) features a pleated action back for ease of gun swing plus storm flaps on the pockets. The safari-style Noble Shooting Coat is made from weatherproof cotton and features large bellows cartridge pockets. Northwood Classic Brushed Cotton Shirts are offered in tattersall patterns in six colors. There’s even a ladies’ collection.

My favorite from the new accessories range is a brace of sterling-silver cufflinks shaped like Holland & Holland toplevers, with hinged backs featuring the H&H logo. Now if only I owned a shirt with French cuffs . . . .
